  11. SimplePost is a postscript previewer for your Amiga with a (hopfully) nice
  12. GUI. It is based on Alladin Ghostscript 6.0 so I hope that all the files
  13. are drawn correctly. You can switch between pages, save them as IFF-ILBM
  14. and print them (via external programm). But note that everything is far from
  15. being perfect.

  29. How to use SimplePost
  30. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  31. SimplePost can be started from Workbench or Shell (however, no shell
  32. template exists at the moment). The gui should be self explaind
  33. (it has also some bubble helps), but here is a short describtion anywhy.
  34.  
  35. After SimplePost has succesfully started (and it has found the
  36. initialisation files) it opens a window which consits of a row of buttons
  37. on the top, another row below of it, a listview of all available pages on
  38. the right and a big area where the the current selected page is displayed.
  39.  
  40. To mark a part inside the display area press the left mouse button,
  41. move the mouse around until you are happy with the selected area and
  42. then release the button (press shift before pressing the lmb and you
  43. are able to mark the area in a non view aspect radio corrected way).
  44. However, currently you can only zoom in this area (by pressing the Zoom
  45. button in the top row).

  47. To open a postscript file use the "Project/Open..." menu entry or move an
  48. icon inside the main window.
  49. Saving the current displayed page as IFF-ILBM is possible with the
  50. "Project/Save as ILBM..." entry.
  51. To print one or more pages use the "Project/Print.." menu entry. In the
  52. listview select those pages which you want to print.
  53.  
  54. Actually printing a page must be done by a seperate program (shell command).
  55. SimplePost creates a temporary IFF-ILBM picture and calls the print program
  56. with this picture as argument. Which program SimplePost uses can be
  57. configured in the "Print Command" line in SimplePost's Configuration Window
  58. (Settings/Configuration...). %s in the path is replaced with the filename
  59. of the temporary created IFF-ILBM graphics file.
  60. In this window you can alter also some other things like the path of the
  61. mentioned temporary files and the search path for fonts and data files (it
  62. is very important to set at least path where SimplePost can find the
  63. gs_init.ps file, otherwise it will not start at all!). Additionally the paper
  64. format and the different resolutions can be altered.
  65. Saving/Loading the settings is possible with the adequate menu entries in the
  66. "Settings" menu.
